We created a hand-drawn logo design for the signboard of the Furano candle studio "Gummywax lab"

We received a design request from Gummywax Lab in Furano, Hokkaido.

Gummywax Lab is a studio that develops and manufactures "gummy wax," a candle material with a unique, squishy texture that is also known as "gummy candles." (Sold only through the EC site.)

This time, Gummy Wax Lad will be handed over to the second generation, and with that, the design will be reborn. We created a handwritten logo with the aim of updating the "characteristics" of the company to suit the future, while keeping the important thoughts and stance of the previous generation intact.

I was also in charge of the tri-fold brochure design .

A "signboard logo" that is slightly different from the existing logo

Gummywax lab already had a logo,

The client's request this time was to create a new logo with a slightly different feel to be used on outdoor signs.

Creating a handwritten logo that conveys the individuality of "Gummy Candles"

Gummy wax is a candle material that has been independently developed and is characterized by its soft and chewy texture . Because of its unique texture, the creators hope that "it can be used as a material for free and flexible creative activities without being confined to a certain mold."

To give shape to this idea, the new logo was hand-drawn to express the softness of gummy wax and the fun and freedom of crafting .

In addition, the logo motif incorporates the beakers actually used in the workshop and the shape of the gummy wax itself, and the small sign is packed with "laboratory-like playfulness and individuality."

We were conscious of the rhythm that can only be achieved by hand-drawn art, and creating expressions that would bring a smile to the viewer's face, while creating a design that is highly visible and endearing as a signboard.
